About

As a young girl, Hildur Rúnarsdóttir experienced the heart-wrenching disappearance of her two little sisters.

Now, 25 years later, she works as a police officer in Ísafjörður, her remote hometown in the western fjords of Iceland.

As Hildur delves into an investigation involving a perplexing series of crimes, she unexpectedly finds support from Finnish trainee officer Jakob Johanson as well as German trainee Florian Hermann. As they dig deeper, they uncover long-standing mysteries and realize they are hot on the trail of a cunning serial killer.

In her relentless pursuit of justice, Hildur must confront the immense tragedy which has haunted her for years—the truth behind her sisters‘ unexplained vanishing two decades ago.

International Co-production

Hildur is Nordic Blue at its best: A combination of well-crafted crime thriller and character-driven relationship drama with a touch of folkloric mysticism.

Finnish producer Take Two Studios (‘Dirty Snow’), Icelandic Sagafilm (‘The Minister’), and German Story House Pictures (‘Sisi’) co-develop and co-produce the 6-part series, to be released in 2025 and shot in English, Finnish, and Icelandic.

Hildur stands out as an authentic creative collaboration between Finland, Iceland, and Germany.
